Solar Panel Cleaning in Rainham

Rainham's proximity to the Thames estuary and the Rainham Marshes RSPB reserve creates a particularly challenging environment for solar panels. The marshes support large gull and corvid populations whose territories extend into the residential streets of Rainham, and bird fouling on solar panels is one of the primary causes of output loss — the uric acid in fouling etches panel glass over time if not cleaned regularly. The estuary also carries particulates from shipping and the Port of Tilbury that deposit as a fine pollution film across panel surfaces.

Panels on properties across RM13 that face south over open ground or towards the Thames are particularly exposed to wind-carried soiling. The angle of most domestic installations is not steep enough to self-clean in typical UK rainfall, which means professional cleaning is necessary to maintain generation at the levels homeowners expect. We use deionised pure water and never apply detergent or abrasive tools to the panel surface.
