Door Repairs & Installation
Doors take a lot of daily wear, and small problems soon become daily annoyances. We hang new internal and external doors and put right the doors you already have across Thurrock, London, Kent, Essex and surrounding areas — easing sticking and dropped doors, re-planing edges that catch, and adjusting the frame and keep so the latch meets cleanly every time.
We also replace worn hinges, fit and repair handles and latches, and tackle draught problems with new seals and adjustment around the frame. Whether it's a bedroom door that won't shut or an external door letting in cold air, pricing depends on the door type, materials and the work involved, so contact us for a quote.
Our Process
What You Can Expect
From your first call to the finished job, here is how our door repairs & installation service works.
Tell us what the door is doing — sticking, dropping, rattling, letting in draughts, or needing replacing entirely.
Send photos of the door, the hinge side and the latch so we can see the frame and any wear before we arrive.
We confirm a price and book a visit, bringing common hinges, latches and seals to complete straightforward jobs in one go.
We ease, re-plane or re-hang the door, adjust the hinges and keep, and fit or repair the handle and latch.
We check the door swings freely, latches cleanly and closes flush, and clear up any shavings and offcuts.
Insider Advice
Helpful Hints & Tips
A dropped door often just needs a hinge check
If a door catches on the floor or frame, loose or worn hinge screws are a common cause. Tightening or replacing them can restore the swing without any planing.
Deal with draughts at the source
Cold air around an external door usually comes from a worn seal or a gap where the door no longer meets the frame squarely — adjusting the door is often more effective than adding extra draught strip.
Let a new door acclimatise
Timber doors can swell or shrink with humidity. Fitting slightly generous and allowing a little seasonal movement avoids a door that binds every damp spell.
