Lock Repairs & Replacement
A stiff, worn or damaged lock is an everyday frustration and a genuine security worry. We repair and replace locks across Thurrock, London, Kent, Essex and surrounding areas — including euro cylinders on uPVC and composite doors, traditional mortice locks on timber doors, and nightlatches on front doors. Where a mechanism has simply seized or gone out of adjustment, we can often get it working smoothly again without a full replacement.
We also handle lost-key lock changes and tenant-change lock swaps for landlords between lets, giving you fresh cylinders and a clean set of keys for the next occupant. Pricing depends on the type and number of locks, the door construction and the parts required, so get in touch and we'll advise on the most sensible option and provide a quote.
Our Process
What You Can Expect
From your first call to the finished job, here is how our lock repairs & replacement service works.
Tell us the door type (uPVC, composite or timber) and what's happening — a stiff key, a snapped cylinder, a lost key or a change of tenant.
Send a photo of the lock edge and any markings so we can identify the mechanism and bring the right parts.
We confirm a price and book a slot, and where possible carry common cylinders and nightlatches to finish in one visit.
We fit or repair the lock, adjust the keep and door alignment, and check the door locks and unlocks smoothly.
We hand over the new keys and test every one before we leave.
Insider Advice
Helpful Hints & Tips
Measure a euro cylinder before ordering
Euro cylinders come in many sizes measured from the central screw to each end. A cylinder that sticks out past the handle is easier to attack, so a correctly sized one both fits and is more secure.
A stiff key is an early warning
If you're jiggling or lifting the door to turn the key, the lock or alignment is wearing. Sorting it early is far cheaper than a lockout when the mechanism finally fails.
Change locks between tenancies
You rarely know how many key copies a previous tenant made. Swapping the cylinder at changeover is a quick, low-cost way to reset security for the next occupant.
