Repair vs Full Retile — Honest Advice on What's Worth Doing
Not every tiling problem needs a full retile, and we will always tell you honestly what is worth doing. A handful of cracked or loose tiles can be lifted and replaced individually — providing a matching tile can be sourced. Matching is not always straightforward (tile ranges get discontinued, and colour batches vary), so we often recommend customers order a small number of spares when a job is first done, just in case.
Discoloured or crumbling grout is a very common complaint, and in many cases re-grouting alone — without touching the tiles themselves — gives a bathroom a genuinely fresh appearance for a fraction of the cost of retiling. We rake out old grout carefully to avoid disturbing the tiles, apply fresh grout in the customer's choice of colour, and finish with clean silicone at the relevant joints.
