What You Can Expect
From your first call to the finished job, here is how our security camera installation service works.
Tell us which device you have (or are planning to buy), the location you want it mounted, and whether you prefer battery or hardwired.
We advise on the best mounting position for coverage, detection angle, and Wi-Fi signal strength before booking.
On the day, we check the wall for cables and pipes, then mount the device securely with the correct fixings for the surface.
For hardwired installs, we connect to your mains supply or existing doorbell wiring and conceal cables neatly.
We connect the device to your Wi-Fi, complete the app setup, test motion zones and live view, then walk you through the controls.

Helpful Hints & Tips
Position for detection, not just view
A camera pointing down a path detects movement earlier than one aimed directly at the door. Positioning matters as much as placement height — we advise on the right angle for each location.
Wi-Fi signal is everything
A camera installed at the edge of your Wi-Fi range will disconnect constantly and miss events. We check signal strength at the intended mounting point before committing to a location.
Hardwire floodlight cameras — always
Floodlight cameras draw significantly more power than standard cameras. Battery-powered floodlight alternatives exist but drain quickly. Mains connection is strongly recommended for these devices.
Height matters for facial recognition
Most manufacturers recommend 2.1–3m mounting height for outdoor cameras. Too high and the camera looks down at the top of heads. Too low and it's easy to tamper with.
Our Workmanship Guarantee
All installation work carried out by Multrex Maintenance Ltd is guaranteed against defects in workmanship for 12 months from the completion date. If a fault arises from our work within this period, we will return to rectify it at no charge. This guarantee covers Multrex labour and workmanship — it does not cover customer-supplied materials found to be faulty, normal wear and tear, damage caused by misuse, or pre-existing conditions identified at the time of the job.
