Roof Cleaning in South Ockendon

South Ockendon is dominated by post-war and 1970s local authority and private estate housing, much of which has concrete interlocking tiles that have now reached an age where moss and algae growth is well established. Concrete tiles become increasingly porous as they age, and this porosity — combined with the relatively flat pitches common on estate properties — means water retention is high and biological growth accelerates. The town's open aspect on the Thurrock plain means roofs are also exposed to wind-carried spores from surrounding farmland and the marshes to the south.

We clean roofs in South Ockendon using a biocide soft-wash treatment that kills growth at the root without the abrasion or water-intrusion risk of high-pressure cleaning. On estate properties where tiles are older and sometimes already showing signs of surface wear, avoiding high-pressure jets is particularly important. We clear debris from valleys and gutters on the day and inspect ridges, mortar and flashings during the visit.
