Solar Panel Cleaning in Ilford

Ilford is a dense inner east London borough with heavy road traffic on the A12, A118 and surrounding arterial routes that generate continuous diesel and traffic particulate. This particulate settles on solar panel surfaces and forms a pollution film that is partly hydrophobic — rain does not wash it off effectively, and it accumulates over months into a grey coating that measurably reduces light transmission to the cells beneath. Installations on properties along or near the A12 corridor and the High Road are particularly affected.

Ilford also has significant bird activity from the large gull and pigeon populations that roost across the borough — bird fouling on panels is a secondary source of output loss, and the uric acid it contains can etch panel glass permanently if not removed within a reasonable time. Our pure water fed-pole system is the industry standard for PV-safe cleaning: deionised water leaves no mineral residue on the glass, and the soft-brush head removes soiling without scratching the anti-reflective coating.
