Solar Panel Cleaning in Chafford Hundred

Chafford Hundred's housing was built in a relatively concentrated period, which means a significant number of properties had solar systems fitted at similar ages — often during the major feed-in tariff uptake between 2010 and 2015. Many of these systems have now been running for over a decade without a professional panel clean, and the soiling accumulated in that time is measurably affecting output. The shallow roof pitches common on 1990s–2000s new-build properties do not self-clean as effectively as steeper Victorian or inter-war pitches, meaning rainfall alone is insufficient to keep panels clean.

The Lakeside and Thurrock Lakeside areas generate significant traffic, and the A13, M25 and A282 Dartford Crossing approach roads are all within close range of Chafford Hundred. Vehicle exhaust particulates are a consistent source of the pollution film that builds up on panel surfaces. We clean using deionised pure water fed through a soft-bristle pole system from our nearby Tilbury base — the correct method for all standard PV systems and safe for the panel warranties that many Chafford Hundred installations still have in place.
