Roof Cleaning in Tilbury

Tilbury sits directly on the north bank of the Thames, and the river's influence on the local climate is pronounced — moisture-laden air coming off the estuary creates conditions where biological growth on roof surfaces is faster and more persistent than in inland locations. The town's terraced and semi-detached housing, much of which dates from the post-war and inter-war periods, tends to show significant moss accumulation on roof slopes within a few years of any previous treatment. The RM18 postcode covers areas where roof tile condition varies considerably — we often find properties where moss has been growing undisturbed for a decade or more.

Because we are based in Tilbury, we can respond quickly, and our team is familiar with the specific housing types and roof profiles common to the area. We use a soft-wash biocide system — not high-pressure cleaning — which is the appropriate method for older tiles that may have already lost some of their original surface coating. The treatment kills biological growth at the root and includes a residual biocide that significantly delays re-growth.
