Tiling in Grays

Grays has a genuinely varied housing stock — Victorian terraces near the town centre, mid-century semis on the estate streets, post-war council housing and newer riverside flats. That range of property ages and styles means the tiling requirements here are equally varied. Older terraced bathrooms often have encaustic or ceramic tiles that were laid decades ago: they can be sound beneath but the grout has failed, or a previous tile layer has been applied over uneven backing that is now causing tiles to loosen and crack. In the more recent riverside developments and converted properties near Grays town centre, the tiling is newer but may be poorly finished — uneven grout joints, tiles set slightly out of true, or sealant that has shrunk and split at the bath edge.
