The Brief
A landlord required the rear garden, patio and side return of a vacant terraced property to be fully cleared ahead of re-letting. The property had been vacant for a period and significant overgrowth had developed throughout.
Initial Condition
The rear garden, patio and side return were all heavily overgrown. Dense weeds and self-seeded scrub had taken over the garden, vegetation had pushed up through paving slabs on the patio, and the side return passage was completely impassable.
Issues Identified
- Dense weed and scrub growth throughout the rear garden to above knee height
- Weeds growing through gaps in patio paving slabs, loosening slabs in places
- Side return passage completely overgrown and inaccessible
- Accumulated debris and garden waste mixed in with the overgrowth
- Property could not be presented to prospective tenants in its current state
Our Approach
We cleared all three areas thoroughly — cutting back and removing all overgrowth from the garden, removing vegetation from the patio joints, fully clearing the side return and removing all arisings from site.
Work Completed
All vegetation in the rear garden was cut back and removed to ground level. Patio weeds were cleared from between the slabs. The side return was fully cleared of vegetation and debris. All arisings and waste were loaded and removed from site. The garden, patio and side return were left in a cleared, accessible condition.
How We Did It
- 1Survey of all three areas and agreement of clearance scope with the landlord
- 2Mechanical and manual clearance of all garden overgrowth
- 3Weed removal from between and beneath patio slabs
- 4Full clearance of the side return passage
- 5Collection of all arisings into bags for removal
- 6Removal of all waste from site
- 7Final walk-around inspection with the client
Outcome
All three areas were fully cleared, accessible and in a condition suitable for the property to be shown to prospective tenants. The landlord was able to hold viewings promptly after completion.
