The Brief
The tenant needed the oven cleaned to an acceptable standard before vacating after a four-year tenancy, to avoid deductions from the security deposit at checkout.
Initial Condition
The oven had accumulated significant carbon deposits, burnt-on grease and food residue over several years of regular use. The door glass was heavily discoloured, the grill pan was coated in baked-on fat, and the interior walls and base were dark with carbonised residue.
Issues Identified
- Severe carbon build-up on all interior surfaces including the cavity, side walls and base
- Badly discoloured oven door glass obscuring the view inside
- Grill pan and rack coated with hardened fat and food deposits
- Residue baked into the door seal area requiring careful cleaning to avoid damage
- Risk of deposit deduction if left uncleaned at checkout
Our Approach
We used professional-grade dip-tank equipment and non-caustic cleaning solutions to break down and lift all carbonised deposits safely, without damaging the oven's enamel, seals or internal components.
Work Completed
The oven was fully stripped down. All removable parts — racks, grill pan, side runners and door glass — were removed and soaked in our professional dip tank. Interior walls, base and roof were treated with specialist cleaning solutions and all residue was removed. The door glass was cleaned separately using non-abrasive methods. All components were reassembled and the oven was left fully functional and ready for inspection.
How We Did It
- 1Full assessment of the oven condition and confirmation of cleaning scope
- 2Removal of all detachable parts: racks, grill pan, side runners and door glass
- 3Dip-tank treatment of removable parts using professional-grade, non-caustic solution
- 4Application of specialist cleaning solution to the interior cavity, walls, base and roof
- 5Agitation and removal of carbonised deposits using appropriate tools
- 6Thorough rinsing and degreasing of all surfaces
- 7Cleaning of the door glass and door seals
- 8Reassembly and final quality check

Outcome
The oven was restored to a clean, hygienic condition across all surfaces. The door glass was fully clear, the interior was free of all carbon residue, and all removable parts were cleaned throughout. The tenant was able to pass the end-of-tenancy inspection without any cleaning-related deposit deductions.
